Myrtle Beach Engagement Photographers
You are engaged! Congratulations!
We are engagement photographers based in Myrtle Beach, specializing in capturing stunning engagement portraits in Myrtle Beach, Georgetown, Pawleys Island, and Charleston, SC.
What is an engagement session
An engagement session is a special portrait session of you and your future spouse, designed to capture the joy and excitement of this beautiful moment in your relationship. It’s an excellent opportunity to work with us before your big day, allowing us to get to know each other and understand your vision for your wedding photos.
Beyond simply documenting your love, the images from your engagement session can be used for Save the Date cards, displayed at your wedding reception, shared on social media, or treasured in a custom engagement album. Most importantly, this is your chance to create timeless, beautiful images that reflect the unique connection you share as a couple.
Booking us for your session
The first thing to do if you want us to photograph your engagement session is to get in touch with us. Then we will decide what date and time will work for both sides. We encourage you to do your engagement session as soon as possible. We will need time to post process each image from your engagement session and complete your product(s) order. In the past we had experience with rescheduling sessions for many reasons such as weather conditions, job, family etc. Once the booking is complete we will then start planning your engagement session.
We normally photograph engagement sessions during the week for 2 reasons: because most weddings occur on weekends and because locations are typically less crowded on week days. However If you can only do your engagement session on a weekend, we can schedule your engagement session on a weekend, however, if a wedding is scheduled for that weekend, later on, we will have to reschedule your engagement session
Location for your engagement session
Many of our clients choose a location that holds special meaning to them for their engagement session. If you’re unsure of where you’d like to be photographed, we’re happy to suggest beautiful venues with stunning backdrops, such as rustic locations or scenic gardens.
Before the session, we’ll ask if you have a vision for your photos. Our goal is to make you feel relaxed and natural. We may guide you through fun activities like walking hand-in-hand or sharing a laugh – all while capturing real, heartfelt moments and emotions.
The timing of your session will vary based on location and the season, ensuring we make the most of the perfect lighting and setting
What to wear for your engagement photos
Styling is key to beautiful engagement photos. Choose outfits that are comfortable and make you feel like yourself. Consider the location and season when selecting your clothes, and for colors, we recommend coordinating (but not matching). Soft pastel tones work best as they won’t distract from your natural smiles and emotions.
While makeup and hair artists aren’t required, they’re a great opportunity to try out your wedding look. If you’re visiting Myrtle Beach, we can recommend some talented local artists if needed.
If you have dogs or kids, feel free to bring them along! Just be sure to have someone else with you to handle them during the session.
As for props, we’re happy to include them in a few shots, but our focus will always be on you as a couple. Props are optional – the emphasis is on capturing your connection and emotions.
Ring Cleaning
When photographing your engagement session, we always make sure to capture a beautiful shot of your engagement ring. To ensure it shines in the photos, we recommend having it professionally cleaned before the session. If you can’t get to the jeweler, you can easily clean your ring at home. Simply soak it in warm water with a bit of dish soap for about 30 minutes, then gently brush the stone with a soft toothbrush. Rinse and repeat if necessary to restore its sparkle.
Save the dates
A Save The Date is a brief announcement sent to your guests, typically as a postcard, to inform them of your wedding date and location. It’s a great way to give your guests a heads-up so they can mark their calendars.
For a destination wedding, we recommend sending your Save The Dates 8 to 10 months in advance. For a local wedding, send them about 4 months before your big day. Be sure to follow up with your formal invitations 8 weeks before the wedding.
