Myrtle Beach Engagement Photographers
You are engaged! Congratulations!
We are engagement photographers based in Myrtle Beach who photograph engagement portraits in Myrtle Beach, Georgetown, Pawleys Island and Charleston, SC.
What is an engagement session
An engagement session is basically a portrait session of you and your future spouse. Engagement sessions are a great way to work with us before your wedding day and have some timeless photos of both of you from that beautiful period of your relationship. The images from your engagement session can be used for Save the Date cards, to be displayed at your wedding reception, social media, etc.
Booking us for your session
The first thing to do if you want us to photograph your engagement session is to get in touch with us. Then we will decide what date and time will work for both sides. We encourage you to do your engagement session as soon as possible. We will need time to post process each image from your engagement session and complete your product(s) order. In the past we had experience with rescheduling sessions for many reasons such as weather conditions, job, family etc. Once the booking is complete we will then start planning your engagement session.
We normally photograph engagement sessions during the week for 2 reasons: because most weddings occur on weekends and because locations are typically less crowded on week days. However If you can only do your engagement session on a weekend, we can schedule your engagement session on a weekend, however, if a wedding is scheduled for that weekend, later on, we will have to reschedule your engagement session
Location for your engagement session
Many of our clients will choose to have their engagement session done in a location or a place that is important for them. If you are not sure where you like would to be photographed we can help and give you a suggestion of venue or place with a beautiful scenery (rustic venues, beautiful gardens etc).
Before we start the session we ask all of our clients in they have something in mind for their session. The way we pose you during the session is going to make you look you are happy and have fun together. We might ask you to walk holding hands, make each other laugh and so on. During our engagement sessions we capture real moments and emotions.
Time of the session depends on the location and time of the year.
What to wear for your engagement photos
Styling is very important for beautiful engagement pictures. It is really important to pick outfits that are comfortable for you and make you look natural and be yourself. Consider the location and time of the year as well when picking your outfits. As far as colors – for all of our portrait sessions we recommend to coordinate colors but not match. Look for soft pastel colors, as they will not take attention from your smiles and emotions.
Makeup and hair artist are not required for your engagement session but they are a great opportunity for you to try your makeup and hair artists. If you are just visiting Myrtle Beach and want to have a makeup or hair artist but not sure who we can always recommend a local artists.
If you have dogs or kids, please feel free to bring them in for your engagement session but make sure to bring someone else who can take handle them or take them home.
When it comes to props, we are fine with that but not absolutely encouraging to do that. If you bring a prop such as a sign or printed date we will include it in some of the pictures for sure. We believe that engagement sessions are for photographing you as a couple and putting the focus on you.
When we photograph an engagement session we always try to take a photo of the engagement ring – so it is a good idea to have it cleaned before the session. If you can’t get to the jeweler for a professional ring cleaning, you can do it at home by soaking your ring in warm water with dish washing soap for about 30 minutes. Then gently brush the stone with a soft toothbrush, rinse and repeat if needed.
